Future issues of Itron News will contain information relevant to METRIS 250 and METRIS MB. METRIS RM continues a long-held tradition that started with the
Sprague Meter Company in 1937 when they introduced the first combination meter and regulator. Sprague subsequently became Schlumberger Limited, and in 2001, Actaris emerged. Now an Itron company, Actaris' design of METRIS RM allows the meter to be removed from service independent of its regulator to improve field maintenance. METRIS RM offers a compact set design and is intended to solve troublesome meter location issues. It targets new construction and offers back inlet and back outlet configuration. Utilities can choose from 3/4" or 1" connections. Further ease-of-use comes in the form of easy handling, serviceability and repair, and less property frontage. The cost savings related to these features are numerous. There is a lower total cost of ownership derived from reduced installation time, its cost-effective pre-fabrication solution, reduced shipping and administrative costs, and fewer potential leak points. This advanced gas metering product is also fully compatible with Itron automated meter reading (AMR) solutions, to meet the requirements of gas suppliers throughout North America. New, Feature-Rich Gas Meter Offers Increased Reliability for Commercial and Industrial Applications
		Based in Owenton, Ky., Actaris U.S. Gas, an Itron company, is proud to partner with Mercury Instruments to offer the Dattus Mini Max. Built on a solid-state platform, the Dattus Mini Max is a feature-rich gas meter built specifically for commercial and industrial applications. The Dattus Mini Max has two main components, the Dattus meter, which does the raw gas measurement, and the Mini Max, which does the pressure, temperature and super-compressibility
correction. The Dattus meter, made by Actaris U.S. Gas, uses fluidic oscillation technology as its measurement principle. Because it has no moving parts, the Dattus meter is ideally suited for applications where it is critical not to have a meter "lock-up" or stop gas flow to a customer. In addition, the Dattus meter may be used over a wide capacity range, which could save costs and prevent service disruption to customers by reducing meter changes. With its low maintenance, ease of installation and reliability, the Dattus is well-suited for most gas measurement applications 1,000 to 56,000 cubic feet per hour. The other component is the Mini Max. The Mini Max is an electronic volume corrector manufactured by Mercury Instruments in Cincinnati, Ohio. The primary function of the Mini Max is to measure pressure and temperature, and calculate the appropriate corrected volume. It follows Mercury Instruments' long line of dependable precision instruments. Since it's a single unit, the Dattus Mini Max eases installation as opposed to separately installing the meter and corrector. There are also no moving parts, increasing reliability.
